This 2025 edition of Psychic City is a collection of 6 silkscreen on 140 lb Arches natural white watercolor paper.
Although the approach for each is uniform, each work is unique. Every print is hit 7 times with each pull being a unique registration so no 2 prints are the same.
 
The 7 layers creates a vibrant pulse that emulates the psychic energies picked given off by the urban environments which the artist has lived and traveled.
 
What separates "Living grid" edition from it's sister edition, "Static grid", is that after the silkscreen process is done, each print is then hit with acrylic paints and in some cases pencil. This takes the work even further into the one-of-a-kind department, something that the artist cares about very much when it comes to multiples and edition prints.
 
"Living" refers not to the alternate reality of the artist's "Static grid" edition. A place can have many sides and character traits much like people do. Hochbaum creates with the idea of an identity that is formed by the environment one spends their time in. For many years David's work has been informed by his personal living spaces and the places he has traveled.
 
Each print is signed and titled on the bottom right corner.
