This is a smaller version of a work David created in 2007 titled "Glass Seas". The image of the woman grasping the ship with flock of blackbirds hauntedthe mind of the artist since he shot this photograph. He created a post-study using a filtered eye 8.5 years later.
The image is a silver gelatin print with acrylics, pencil and carbon transfers. The print is cold pressed mounted to an MDF board and is coated in my homemade beeswax/dammar/carnauba wax encaustic.
The work is mounted in a custom handmade wood frame with hand cut and hammered aluminum.
The piece i s 11.5" x 10" x 2.5" deep
It is wired and ready to hang.
